On Thursday, 11 June 2026, in Brazzaville, Minister of Finance, Budget and Public Treasury Christian Yoka chaired a seminar focusing on the Regional Economic Perspectives of Sub‑Saharan Africa. The event, organised in partnership with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), featured Maximilien Kaffo, IMF Representative, who presented the April 2026 edition of the IMF’s Regional Economic Outlook. The report outlined six key recommendations aimed at fostering sustainable growth, enhancing resilience to external shocks and promoting inclusive development across the region. Discussions highlighted the importance of fiscal prudence, investment in infrastructure, and diversification of economies to achieve long‑term prosperity. Attendees, comprising government officials, private‑sector leaders and development partners, examined policy implications and identified priority actions for the Congo and its neighbours. The seminar underscored the value of regional cooperation in addressing shared challenges and reinforced the Ministry’s commitment to aligning national economic strategies with emerging trends and best practices in Sub‑Saharan Africa.
