The State Tax Inspectorate of Lithuania (VMI) announced that it will begin administering all tax obligations through a unified account system. This new approach aims to simplify the tax settlement process for both individuals and businesses by consolidating various tax liabilities into a single account, thereby reducing administrative burdens and minimizing errors. Under this model, taxpayers will no longer need to maintain separate accounts for different tax types; instead, all obligations will converge into one central account that automatically calculates and applies the appropriate tax amounts. VMI stated that the transition will be rolled out gradually, with full implementation expected by the end of the fiscal year.
